Psalm 16: 1-11

1  Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge.

2  I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.”

3  I say of the holy people who are in the land, “They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight.”

4  Those who run after other gods will suffer more and more. I will not pour out libations of blood to such gods or take up their names on my lips.

5  LORD, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.

6  The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

7  I will praise the LORD, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.

8  I keep my eyes always on the LORD. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

9  Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure,

10  because you will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let your faithful [b]  one see decay.

11  You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, we adore You and praise your name. We worship You, the only true God. In the midst of this severe pandemic, we have taken refuge in You. We start our day before dawn focusing on things pertaining to the Kingdom of God and submit our bodies, hearts, and minds to You. Even though we are in this tribulation, we have peace and joy in our hearts because You are our Lord, we have nothing good besides You.

Lord Jesus, we understand that our lives will not be trouble free. But You promise to be with us and deliver us from all fears. Only You, Jesus have the power to save! Your name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone. Now, in your name we ask that You lose the chains of suffering that bind those who have been impacted adversely by this pandemic. We pray for the people who are infected with coronavirus and in your name, anoint them with oil, heal them in your love and mercy. Thank you for the promise that You will not abandon us to the realm of the dead.

Holy Spirit, show us the path to life. Let us not place importance on material things of the world but be appreciative of God’s daily provision and blessing so that we can bear witness to God’s goodness. Help us not to grief the spirit by keeping the commandments of God and by not doing evil things so that we can live blameless lives. Be joyful always, pray at all times, and be thankful in all circumstances. Let us rest in God’s presence with eternal pleasures and we will not be shaken.
