Psalm 130:1-8

1  Out of the depths I cry to you, LORD;

2  Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy.

3  If you, LORD, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand?

4  But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you.

5  I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.

6  I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning.

7  Israel, put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.

8  He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, loving and merciful God,

We wait until morning comes to confess to you our sins and the sins of the city. Forgive us and deliver us from the ravaging epidemic. We have perverted that which was right, twisted the facts, and allowed sin to choke the lives out of us. We fall into silt of rebellion and disobedience. Have mercy on us and redirect us to the path that leads to bright and victorious days.

We are healed by the wounds of Jesus Christ. Thank you for your promise that those who are weary and burdened can come to You and You will give them rest. We spread our wings in the morning, no matter where we fly, may your loving hand guide and protect us. Our lives depend on You, Lord. We dedicate ourselves to trusting and seeking You, God in all circumstances and in all our ways, we acknowledge You.

Holy Spirit, our protector and comforter, help us to engrave our Father’s commands deeply on the heart. Examine and enlighten our minds, try us and guard our thoughts so we don’t go down the path of wickedness, but lead us to walk steadily on the path of eternal life.

In Jesus Christ’s name we pray. Amen!
