Psalm 21: 1-7, 13

1 The king rejoices in your strength, Lord. How great is his joy in the victories you give!

2 You have granted him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips.

3 You came to greet him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on his head.

4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him— length of days, for ever and ever.

5 Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.

6 Surely you have granted him unending blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence.

7 For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken.

13 Be exalted in your strength, Lord; we will sing and praise your might.

Prayer

Loving Father, God, thank you for a night of restful sleep, we wake up feeling refreshed and energized and we are ready for this new day. We offer our heartfelt gratitude for Your favor that lasts a lifetime. Kindle the revival fire in our hearts that we may offer our bodies as living sacrifice. With gladness we want to fulfill our wishes of dedicating ourselves to Christ and to be witnesses for God today.

Thank you, Lord Jesus for sacrificing your life on the cross for our sin so we can have eternal lives. You give us eight beatitudes that describe the rewards that will be ours as loyal followers of Christ. Life is a journey which we all go through and which begins with birth, then old age, sickness, and death. We are facing the COVID 19 pandemic, the crisis that shock the whole world. This is what we know to be the things that the Lord has willed to happen and there isn’t anything we can do or say to change His mind. Help us to seek and follow the will of God and may the Lord’s will be done.

Holy Spirit, by your power regenerates our souls. Let the word of God be the driving force of our lives. Let our innermost beings flow rivers of living water. Help us to seek the kingdom of God above all else and do what God requires of is: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God. Let us experience God’ unfailing love, overcome the trauma of the pandemic, and wait patiently for the Lord’s unending blessings.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
