Psalm 120: 1-7

1  I call on the LORD in my distress, and he answers me.

2  Save me, LORD, from lying lips and from deceitful tongues.

3  What will he do to you, and what more besides, you deceitful tongue?

4  He will punish you with a warrior’s sharp arrows, with burning coals of the broom bush.

5  Woe to me that I dwell in Meshek, that I live among the tents of Kedar!

6  Too long have I lived among those who hate peace.

7  I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, God. We bow before your throne of grace and pray. You are the Lord of grace, love, and mercy. When we are besieged by all the smog, and affected by erratic weather condition, we feel irritable and restless. If not for these difficult times, we would not clasp our hands in prayer. We firmly believe the Lord will answer whatever we ask for in prayer.

Lord Jesus, hold our hands and take us away from the malicious and unrighteous tent, putting setbacks and disappointments behind us. We praise God along our spiritual journey. At night we may cry, but when morning comes, we will celebrate. No more whining, just looking forward to the reopening of churches, revitalization of all businesses, and the resurgence of the days of a bustling economy.

Holy Spirit, bind our deceitful tongues, cleanse our hearts, and re-establish peace in us. Teach us to be gentle and submissive, be fruitful, be impartial, be honest in our dealing, sow peace, be diligent in proclaiming the gospel and in spreading the good news so that we will be a blessing to others.

In Jesus Christ’s name we pray. Amen!
