Proverbs 31：8-10，15，20，25-27，30

8  Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.

9  Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

10 A wife of noble character who can find?  She is worth far more than rubies.

15  She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants.

20  She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy.

25  She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.

26  She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27  She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

30  Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

Prayer

May praise and glory be to our Father, our God in heaven. For you are “the creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it.”

Thank you, Heavenly Father for preparing your holy words and teachings for us. Knowing that good character and deeds are more precious than pearls, our lives’ focus is on you. When we follow the holy way and find favor in your eyes, you will bestow endless grace and blessings on us. Even in the face of unrelenting natural disasters and the pandemic, we get up every morning before dawn in the frigid winter wind to offer you our heartfelt prayer; entrusting ourselves and our families in your hand and receiving our missions for the day.

Lord Jesus, thank you. When darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, your light come to the world; to illuminate and stay in our hearts so that we can rise and shine. We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from the mercy of God and not from us. Lord Jesus, you have left your beautiful footprints for us. You acted righteously. You have compassion and heal all those who have been oppressed by suffering and illnesses. “The Son can do nothing by himself, he can do only what he sees his Father doing.”

Holy Spirit you are full of love. Please come and fuel our dying light of patience, rekindle the fire of love, so as not to be blown out by the violent storm of the current hostile environment. Just as reeds, our feeble minds are overwhelmed by the pandemic and turmoil. We pray that the Holy Spirit will not break us but give us strength to stand firm again. After the broken jars of clay are mended, we can stay away from sins and bitterness, think clearly, discern between right and wrong in accordance with the truth of the Bible. We will be diligent, hate what is evil, cling to what is good, never be lacking in zeal but keep our spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. We will love sincerely and willing to share and protect those who are in need. May we stand firm for the Lord.

We pray in the holy name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
