Proverbs 30：4-6，8-9，32-33

4  Who has gone up to heaven and come down? Whose hands have gathered up the wind? Who has wrapped up the waters in a cloak? Who has established all the ends of the earth? What is his name, and what is the name of his son? Surely you know!

5  “Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.

6  Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.

8  Keep falsehood and lies far from me; give me neither poverty nor riches, but give me only my daily bread.

9  Otherwise, I may have too much and disown you and say, ‘Who is the LORD?’ Or I may become poor and steal, and so dishonor the name of my God.

32  “If you play the fool and exalt yourself, or if you plan evil, clap your hand over your mouth!

33  For as churning cream produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.”

Prayer

Our Father in heaven, you are the creator of all things. You rule over everything. You are holy and sovereign. Your eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen and being understood from what has been made so that people are without excuse. We are more ignorant and foolish than most people because we do not value the opportunities of getting to know you on a deeper level. Please forgive us for we neither glorify you as God nor give thanks to you. We focus our attention on worldly affairs and our thinking becomes futile. Although we claim to be wise, we try to use our limited knowledge to measure your unfathomable wonders; we become fools. Your word, Lord, stands firm in the heavens; it is flawless as refined seven times. Your word is a shield to those who take refuge in it.

Lord Jesus, you came into the world in flesh. You are the bread of life. In you, we are satisfied. Give us this day our daily bread. Help us not to worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. We are willing to follow your footsteps. Please keep us away from falsehoods and be faithful with self-control. Pray that we will not be greedy, coveting worldly treasures, indulging in the flesh and falling into wickedness. Let us remember all things can only be done through you, our God.

Holy Spirit, helps us not to look to our own interests but to the interests of the other when we are dragged down by the pandemic. May our actions be righteous and do not bring shame or sorrow to our families. Help us not to be pretentious, like a ferocious wolf in a sheep’s clothing. Holy Spirit, do not forsake us. When we are stubborn, act arrogantly or have evil thoughts in our hearts; please come and stop us immediately. Otherwise we will bring harm as twisting the nose produces blood. By the fruit we know what was planted. “Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles?” Please guard our hearts and let us bear fruit that will glorify God and benefit others.
