Psalm 96: 1-3, 11-13

1  Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.

2  Sing to the LORD, praise his name; proclaim his salvation day after day.

3  Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous deeds among all peoples.

11  Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it.

12  Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.

13  Let all creation rejoice before the LORD, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.

Prayer

Righteous and Faithful Lord, Our Heavenly Father, You are the King of all nations, and Lord of the universe. You are above all gods and most worthy of our praise. Despite the dense fog, You open up a new day for us, giving us a new beginning every morning. With joyful hearts, we sing a new song to You. We give You thanks, for your mercies are new every morning, and praise Your glorious name as we start our new day. Even though we are feeling stress amid the COVID-19 pandemic, we will never doubt or panic. We take refuge in You and we will declare our unwavering faith and our trust in You. We will remain vigilant and wait for Your deliverance.

Lord Jesus, You are majestic, glorious, mighty and the genuine Messiah, our only beautiful, gracious, holy savior. You are the greatest, all powerful, second coming sovereign Lord. We bow humbly before You acknowledging our sin to You and not concealing our inequities. We will confess our transgressions and ask that You forgive the guilt of our sin. You are the prince of peace, let your peace calm each city and end the chaos. Help local officials diffuse the protests, and soften the hearts of people involved. There is no easy solution as people are angry and we can only plead for Your mercy and compassion. Let freedom and universal love coexist in the land we live in so that people can have peace and feel safe again.

Holy Spirit, grant us the tongue of those who are instructed to know how to sustain the weary with a word. May You awaken us each morning; awakens our ears to listen like those being instructed. Open our ears so that what we say and what we do today will not depart from the teaching of the truth. Give us courage to take on the missions and responsibilities, not afraid and turn back. Let the church regain its strength and splendor through the testimony of our lives, and start preaching the salvation of Christ. May all praise, honor, and glory be to our Father God in Heaven.

In Jesus’s precious name we pray. Amen.
