Psalm 94: 1, 12-15, 22
1 The LORD is a God who avenges. O God who avenges, shine forth.
12 Blessed is the one you discipline, LORD, the one you teach from your law;
13 you grant them relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance.
15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.
22 But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge and all the upright in heart will follow it.
Prayer
Our Sovereign Lord, Heavenly Father, You are our stronghold, our rock in whom we take refuge. We bring to You the grievances in our heart this morning and ask for justice we deserve. We want to cast all our cares unto You, get rid of the sinful thoughts that entangled us, and remove all doubts in our hearts. Help us to be patient and be able to focus on the road ahead of us so that we may rejoice in the comfort we receive from You today.
Thank You Lord Jesus. Because of our sins You were wounded, beaten because of the evil we did. We are healed by the punishment You suffered, made whole by the blows You received. You sustain us with Your love, guide us with Your light, so that we will not stumble and fall during this raging COVID-19 pandemic. Now, we bind this ferocious coronavirus in the holy name of Jesus. Lord, deliver us from this catastrophic disaster, be with us, and let us find peace in Your presence.
Holy Spirit, come to awaken our souls and to lead us in paths of righteousness. Forbid our hands to dig holes in this road of grace. May You teach us, rebuke us, correct us, and train us in righteousness with God’s word. Extend the rod of discipline to prevent us from falling into the pit, and deliver us from temptation and evil. Let us all experience the opening of heaven, and the Holy Spirit once again came down upon us in the form of a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “ This is My beloved son….” We genuinely do what God requires of us: to do what is just, to show constant love, to live in humble fellowship with our God, and to live a life that pleases God all the times.
