Psalm 84: 2-3, 6-7, 10-11

2  My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

3  Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near your altar, LORD Almighty, my King and my God.

6  As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools.

7  They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.

10  Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

11  For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.

Prayer

Almighty Lord, our Heavenly Father. How lovely is Your dwelling place! We rise early and bow before your throne to seek You and to receive Your kiss of intimate communion in our prayer. The COVID 19 pandemic has prevented us from worshipping you at church for several months and from having fellowship with our church family. Lord, have mercy on us, lead us through this valley of weeping, open a breathable window for us and the fountain of blessing is in sight. We miss worshipping in-person together at church and love to embark on the road of spiritual advancement.

Lord Jesus, You are not holding any good thing back from us. You promise us to first seek the righteousness of Your kingdom, to do justice, and to do Your will to pleases You and all these other things shall be added unto us. Lead us on the path of discipleship, take good care of our bodies and minds and offer our lives as living sacrifices at Your altar. Help us to reorganize our spiritual lives and relying on God’s strength to renew our hearts and spirits. From one generation to the next, may they find the church as their home for their young, a church that is full of God’s grace. May God’s grace be upon the next generation, from strength to strength become a source of blessing to the community.

Holy Spirit, thank you for opening the floodgate of heaven. You are like doves coming to us with the grace of the Father. You embrace the group of children whom the Lord loves. You lead us to feast on spiritual food so that we have no space to follow malicious scheme, no desire to linger on the path of sin, and no longer accompany with the mockers. We don’t want to live in the tent of the wicked, we would rather be doorkeepers in the house of the Lord. Living one day under the Lord’s shelter is better than a thousand days in a colorful world. Our trust is in the Lord and we want to be faithful children of our God.

In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
