Psalm 72: 1,3, 17-19

1  Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.

3  May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness.

17  May his name endure forever; may it continue as long as the sun. Then all nations will be blessed through him, and they will call him blessed.

18  Praise be to the LORD God, the God of Israel, who alone does marvelous deeds.

19  Praise be to his glorious name forever; may the whole earth be filled with his glory. Amen and Amen.

Prayer

Our awesome and perfect Heavenly Father, God, thank you for the peaceful morning. In quietness and confidence shall be our strength, in returning and rest we shall be saved. We kneel down to pray for peace for the world. May leaders of the world whom You have allowed to be in position of authority will be wise and just. May they judge their people in righteousness. May they fear You as long as the sun shines, as long as the moon remains in the sky throughout all generations.

Lord Jesus, You are the prince of peace. The coronavirus pandemic has broken our dreams of happiness and shattered our beautiful prospects. You did not mend our brokenness; instead You crushed all broken pieces into fine powder, then mixed it with Your tears. and mold it into a new vessel containing Your grace that bless people around us.

Holy Spirit, inspire our hearts to put aside bitterness and hatred. Remove unwanted thoughts of cruelty and anger. Let us put on uniforms of volunteers and help the poor and needy and the oppressed. Dress the wound of the city with compassionate care. Avoid offending brother and sisters, no more criticize and blame each other staining the body of Christ. May the spiritual light of the church set the right path and bring new hope to the next generation.

We pray earnestly in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
