Psalm 63: 1-6

1  You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.

2  I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory.

3  Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you.

4  I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

5  I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

6  On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, the unchanging and everlasting creator. Thank you that Your grace is for eternity and Your steadfast love endures forever. When we wake up in the morning the first thing we do is to seek You. Our desire is to pursuit a deep, rich, and intimate relationship with You and to have Your unfailing love enfold us for Your love is greater than anything life can give us. We have come to know that to be rich without God is to be short-sighted in light of eternity. There is nothing permanent in a temporary life and material things and status of this world has no eternal value.

Jesus, Lord Jesus, thank you for not only giving us eternal life but also eternal security. Thank you that through Your death the veil in the holy temple was torn in half; You have removed the barriers between God and man, and now we can see His power and His glory from the holy place. The COVID pandemic has plunged us into a dry and parched land where there is no water. But we place our trust in You and believe You will follow through on Your promises to help and sustain us in our need. We will find rest in Your arms and joy under the shadow of Your wings.

Holy Spirit, shine Your light on us, remind us to pray continually and give thanks in all circumstances. Anoint our mouth with Your words and let us meditate on it day and night because Your words are life and hope to our bones and we will be fully satisfied as with the riches of foods. We will lift our holy hands to bless others and we will sing of Your grace. Lord, use us every day of our lives to accomplish Your purpose. With singing lips our mouths will praise You.
