Psalm 55: 1-2, 4-5, 14, 16-17, 22

1  Listen to my prayer, O God, do not ignore my plea;

2  hear me and answer me.

3 My thoughts trouble me and I am distraught

4 My heart is in anguish within me; the terrors of death have fallen on me.

5  Fear and trembling have beset me; horror has overwhelmed me.

14  with whom I once enjoyed sweet fellowship at the house of God, as we walked about among the worshipers.

16  As for me, I call to God, and the LORD saves me.

17  Evening, morning and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice.

22  Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.

Prayer

Faithful and Unchanging Heavenly Father, we kneel down to offer our thanks for Your protection and care. Thank you for leading us through the night when we felt exhausted physically, emotionally, and mentally. You were there walking beside us through the valley of tears, You cast away anxiety and worry in our weary hearts and made us resilient for the next day. When we are at the bottom of the valley of pandemic and chaos and our faith is crumbling, You pour upon us plenteous shower of blessings and send the needed grace down to revive us. Lord, Your power is bigger than what we are facing today. Thank you for transforming the valley into spiritual mountain top.

Lord Jesus, You are the greatest healer. We carry brothers and sisters who are sick and also those who are feeling oppressed before You and ask for Your healing hand. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever. We believe You still heal today. Lately we feel trapped due to coronavirus- induced confinement and wish that we could fly away like birds to a safe place. You want us to be patient by reminding us that one day spent in Your Temple is better than a thousand anywhere else; we would rather stand at the gate of the house of our God than live in the homes of the wicked. You want us to be still and not ended up in wilderness.

Holy Spirit, speak to us not as a counselor but directly to our hearts. By Your power propel our heartbeat and pulse to synchronize with Yours so that we can lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us. Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. Strengthen our feeble arms and weak knees that we may stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong and live for the Lord.

We pray in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.
