Psalm 52:1, 3-5, 8-9

1  Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero? Why do you boast all day long, you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?

3  You love evil rather than good, falsehood rather than speaking the truth. [c]

4  You love every harmful word, you deceitful tongue!

5  Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin: He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent; he will uproot you from the land of the living.

8  But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.

9  For what you have done I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope in your name, for your name is good.

Prayer

God Most High, Everlasting Heavenly Father, You live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit. Loving Father, we come to You in humility and ask for spiritual strength to increase our faith. Grow our belief so that we will trust You alone for as long as we live. We want to remain steadfast as the green olive tree flourishing in the house of the Lord.

Lord Jesus, You gave us the message to repent for the kingdom of heaven is near. You are close to those who are discouraged; and save those who have lost all hope. The COVID 19 pandemic hit us like sea billows, and the corresponding stress and anxiety rushing in like flash flood, we are not sure how we will get pass them. Help us to keep our focus first on You instead of on our troubles and to remember that You came to give new life, hope, peace and joy. Lord, lead us for You are the way, the truth and the life.

Holy Spirit, restore our hearts that we may know that we can have victory in Jesus – victory over sin, death, and life challenges. We can step over the stumbling blocks of deceit and lies, traverse across incorrect information pathways, and go through myriad of intimation. Give us the spiritual vision to make plans and budgets for the future. We cast all our cares upon You because You told us not to worry about tomorrow, it will take care of itself. We have enough to worry about today.
