Psalm 45: 1-7, 16-17

1  My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.

2  You are the most excellent of men and your lips have been anointed with grace, since God has blessed you forever.

3  Gird your sword on your side, you mighty one; clothe yourself with splendor and majesty.

4  In your majesty ride forth victoriously in the cause of truth, humility and justice; let your right hand achieve awesome deeds.

5  Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king’s enemies; let the nations fall beneath your feet.

6  Your throne, O God, [c]  will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom.

7  You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.

16  Your sons will take the place of your fathers; you will make them princes throughout the land.

17  I will perpetuate your memory through all generations; therefore the nations will praise you for ever and ever.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank you for your steadfast love and favor so graciously given to us each morning. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from You, the Father of lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. Your love and Your plan never fail. The plans You have for us are plans to bring us prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future we hope for. O Lord, we seek you with our hearts.

Lord Jesus, our Messiah and Savior. You are the King of kings, Lord of lords. We are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession; and in Christ Jesus we are all children of God through faith because we seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness. Give us wisdom to cope with the coronavirus disease outbreak so that our responses may be testimonies to show how God lead us out of this dark moment and set our feet on a brighter path.

Spirit of Wisdom and Understanding, enlighten our minds to know the word of truth. Help us stand firm in the faith, be humble, fight for justice and move forward courageously amid the pandemic that we may witness for God. With praises on our lips and thanksgiving in our hearts we begin a new day.

We pray for the leaders of all countries for they did not get to where they are by girding swords. Give them the divine wisdom, intelligence, and discernment to govern their countries for the welfare of their people, not seeking prosperity and longevity for themselves so that they can bring peace to the world with the truth of the Bible.

We pray sincerely in the holy name of Jesus. Amen
