Psalm 4: 1-8

1  Answer me when I call to you, my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; have mercy on me and hear my prayer.

2  How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods?

3  Know that the LORD has set apart his faithful servant for himself; the LORD hears when I call to him.

4  Tremble and [  do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.

5  Offer the sacrifices of the righteous and trust in the LORD.

6  Many, LORD, are asking, “Who will bring us prosperity?” Let the light of your face shine on us.

7  Fill my heart with joy when their grain and new wine abound.

8  In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.

Prayer

Loving and just Heavenly Father, Lord,

Thank you for the restful night of sleep. We awake refreshed this morning with positive attitude to start a new day and vitality to face new challenge. Though life’s difficulties are imminent, the second wave of COVID pandemic is coming and the resurgent wave of the virus will be like mudslide crashing down on us, we will raise our hands and pray for deliverance. Lord God, you are great, outside of God there is no goodness. Have mercy on us, hear and answer our prayer.

Lord Jesus who justified people by faith. We are leaning on Your bosom while You compassionately comfort and encourage us. We recommit to do what You have commanded us. We will carry our own cross and live a life showing that we love our God with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strengths; also, love others as much as we love ourselves. Lead us to walk through the narrow path of life that will take us to the wide- open land of grace. You promise that the road the righteous travel is like the sunrise, getting brighter and brighter until daylight has come.

Holy Spirit, full of blessing and joy. May you shower us with spiritual rain of grace to quench our thirsty inner souls and let them turn into fountains of living water that flow along the winding roads ahead, relieving the troubles of those around us. We declare the good news that God will come to save; no more loneliness or suffering for God is omnipresent, our shelter and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. The Lord your God is the only God and that he is faithful. He will keep his covenant and show his constant love to a thousand generations of those who love him and obey his commands.

We offer our earnest prayer in the holy name of Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
