Psalm 29: 1-5, 10-11

1  Ascribe to the LORD, you heavenly beings, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.

2  Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his [a]  holiness.

3  The voice of the LORD is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the LORD thunders over the mighty waters.

4  The voice of the LORD is powerful; the voice of the LORD is majestic.

5  The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars;  the LORD breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

10  The LORD sits enthroned over the flood; the LORD is enthroned as King forever.

11  The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.  

Prayer

The omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent Lord, our Heavenly Father, You sit on your holy throne in heaven way above the thick clouds, though You are not visible to us, but our thanksgiving praise can still reach You. The clouds cannot hinder You from revealing Your mighty power. If you have mercy on our request, the pandemic could be reversed in an instant at your fingertips. The voice of the Lord is powerful and makes everything tumble.

Jesus Lord, when You came to the world and became flesh, a multitude of the Heavenly host appeared with the angel at your birth, praising God by saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth to people who enjoy His favor!” Your presence shook the entire human race for You have opened up the way to eternal life for us. You rule over all forces, authorities, powers, and rulers. God has put all things under Your power, and for the good of the church He has made You the head of everything. In your gentle voice You call us to follow You and You will make us fishers of men.

Holy Spirit, all powerful and majestic, may you gather all nature to form the world’s greatest symphony orchestra to perform prelude to the return of the Lord. May the wind of the Holy Spirit blow freshly upon churches and may the tongues like flames of fire reappear and kindle the fire for evangelism. Let us go and proclaim that kingdom of heaven is near, repent, turn back to God. We are in the midst of the pandemic storm, political turmoil, and social unrest, help us to build altar of prayer and let the spiritual fire revive our hearts. We trust that You will have mercy and heal this place. We will wait for sunny days after the storm because Your eye has seen how fervently we pray and Your ear has heard our cry for help.
