Psalm 148: 1-6, 12-13

1  Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD from the heavens; praise him in the heights above.

2  Praise him, all his angels; praise him, all his heavenly hosts.

3  Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars.

4  Praise him, you highest heavens and you waters above the skies.

5  Let them praise the name of the LORD, for at his command they were created,

6  and he established them for ever and ever—he issued a decree that will never pass away.

12  young men and women, old men and children.

13  Let them praise the name of the LORD, for his name alone is exalted; his splendor is above the earth and the heavens.

Prayer

Father in Heaven,

Hallelujah, Praise the Lord. All living things praise the Lord. Inanimate atmosphere ought to praise Him with nature sounds. Praise Him with hands lifted up even when we are in distress. The pandemic, mass unemployment, and civil unrest all have occurred in recent months; each one alone is enough to cause fear and anxiety. Our life is like a band performing without rehearsals, not in tune and out of sync. Even then, we still sing praises to your holy name.

Have compassion on us, Lord Jesus. The objects that we rely on are not permanent and secured, they could be taken away or destroyed. Only your steadfast love endures forever and your peace is everlasting. Not even fire, hail, blizzard, fog, or storm can keep you away from us. You shield us with your arms from danger and pull us to safety. You alone are our deliverer and refuge.

Holy Spirit, tune up the string instruments of our lives. Be our conductor to lead and guide a universal choir that comprise people of all ages, the sun, the moon, the stars, and all living things. Let us sing and clap in rhythm praising our Lord. Let the music blast out the message of faith, hope, and love. This is a rehearsal for a splendor concert in the eternal future. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for comforting, strengthening, and guiding our daily walk.

We pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
