Psalm 146: 1-3, 6-10

1  Praise the LORD. Praise the LORD, my soul.

2  I will praise the LORD all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.

3  Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save.

6  He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them—

    he remains faithful forever.

7  He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry.

The LORD sets prisoners free,

8      the LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down,  the LORD loves the righteous.

9  The LORD watches over the foreigner  and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

10  The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations.

Praise the LORD.

Prayer

Hallelujah! Praise the mighty Creator, our Father in Heaven, God,

You are the faithful and unchanging Lord, our ever-present help, and we put our hope in you. In the past hundred days, we feel like we were living in a dream where the mornings were neither sunny or cloudy. This morning we woke up to the chirping sound of birds and realized that You give us visions in breezy and cloudy weather and dreams in the ever-changing world to let us know even children of light will experience hardship in life. We therefore submit ourselves to you wholeheartedly and ask you to lead us.

Lord Jesus, come and reign in our hearts; we want to be like you. You want us to persevere in trials and adversity as this is the way we are being tested and refined like gold, that can be molded into a lampstand giving light in the dark. God has a divine purpose for everything that allowed to happen in our lives. We are ready to serve, use us that we may comfort the injured, uphold the cause of the oppressed, give food to the hungry, support the lonely, and attend to the foreigner. Let us be a beacon of light bringing hope amidst the pandemic.

Mighty Holy Spirit, remind us not to rely on our ability or talent in everything we do, trust in the Lord to show us the right way. Replace our rebellious attitude with strong desire to yield to God’s control. Strengthen our feeble arms and week knees. Turn our heads to look to the hills where we may find help. Our help will come from the Lord who made heaven and earth. God will keep us stand on the mountains. Hallelujah, praise the everlasting Lord.

In Jesus Christ’s name we pray. Amen!
