Psalm 124: 1-8
1 If the LORD had not been on our side— let Israel say—
2 if the LORD had not been on our side when people attacked us,
3 they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us;
4 the flood would have engulfed us, the torrent would have swept over us,
5 the raging waters would have swept us away.
6 Praise be to the LORD, who has not let us be torn by their teeth.
7 We have escaped like a bird from the fowler’s snare; the snare has been broken, and we have escaped.
8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
Prayer
Father God, it is a quiet morning, upon waking up, we bowed down and worship You. We declared that You are king, our God, and our lifetime helper. We place our trust in You for You are the Lord of our lives. From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!
Lord Jesus, we need you in sunny days and gloomy days. Every moment of our lives we need your presence. Forgive us! When things are going well, we indulge ourselves and forget the Lord our God. When we suffer from the storms of life, everything seems to go wrong and we feel like we are left floundering in torrent, we then turn to you for deliverance. Lord, we are truly sorry, please forgive us.
Holy Spirit, we are overwhelmed by the detriments associated with ongoing raging pandemic, frequent protests from civil unrest, and economic uncertainty. We need the power of the spirit to sustain and encourage us to weather the storm and wait for the rainbow. We believe the Lord will help us escape the fowler’s snare; the snare will be broken. Our help is in the Lord, the Make of heaven and earth.
By faith we pray in Jesus’ holy name. Amen!
