Streams in the Desert Nov 22 Dealing With the Past / By:Andrew Murray "Believe ye that I am able to do this?" (Matt. 9:28).
Today's Scripture & Insight: Matthew 9:27-33 27 As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” 28 When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”“Yes, Lord,” they replied.29 Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”; 30 and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.” 31 But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region. 32 While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus. 33 And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”
God deals with impossibilities. It is never too late for Him to do so, when the impossible is brought to Him, in full faith, by the one in whose life and circumstances the impossible must be accomplished if God is to be glorified. If in our own life there have been rebellion, unbelief, sin, and disaster, it is never too late for God to deal triumphantly with these tragic facts if brought to Him in full surrender and trust. It has often been said, and with truth, that Christianity is the only religion that can deal with man's past. God can "restore the years that the locust hath eaten" (Joel 2:25); and He will do this when we put the whole situation and ourselves unreservedly and believingly into His hands. Not because of what we are but because of what He is. God forgives and heals and restores. He is "the God of all grace." Let us praise Him and trust Him. --Sunday School Times "We have a God who delights in impossibilities." Nothing too hard for Me. --Andrew Murray
Today’s Hymns The God of the Impossible
Nothing is Impossible
Scripture to Respond Jeremiah 32:27 “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me? Matthew 19:26 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Reflection: Is there anything in your life that seems ‘too difficult’, ‘impossible’ or ‘too late’? Do you believe that all things are possible with God? Are you willing to learn to trust Him with faith and overcome the hurdles by leaning on the mighty power of God?
Prayer: Dear Lord, please forgive me for my unbelief and rebellion. I am willing to learn to trust you fully in every issue in life, be it big or trivial. Please help me to live out a victorious life.
